FA/SA Assessments
EXAMINATIONS - BASIC INFORMATION
There will be two Academic terms for the scholastic year 2011-12. The first term shall be from April to Sept. and the second will be from Oct. to March. Promotion is based on the day today work of students through out the year and also on the performance in the terminal examinations.
The Weightage of Formative Assessment (FA) and Summative Assessment (SA) shall be as follows : I to IX
As per CCE pattern – FA1 (10%), FA2 (10%), SA1 (30%), FA3 (10%), FA4 (10%) & SA2 (30%).
The Weightage of Formative Assessment (FA) and Summative Assessment (SA) shall
be as follows : for class X
As per CCE pattern – FA1 (10%), FA2 (10%), SA1 (20%), FA3 (10%), FA4 (10%) & SA2 (40%).
The Weightage of Formative Assessment (FA) and Summative Assessment (SA) shall
be as follows : XI
Quarterly : 30 Marks, Half Yearly : 70 Marks, Final : 100 Marks
The Weightage of Formative Assessment (FA) and Summative Assessment (SA) shall
be as follows : XII
Quarterly : 50 Marks, Half Yearly : 100 Marks, Pre-Board : 100 Marks
If a student is prevented by illness from appearing for an examination he will not be given another examination. His promotion will be decided on the strength of his performance at other examinations.
Failure in any one of these subjects i.e. English, Hindi, Science or Mathematics in the average of all the exams renders a pupil liable to repeat his class.
However, a student, who passes in the above mentioned subjects in the overall of the main exams, but fails in any of these subjects in the Final Examination will also be considered failed in that subject. In other words passing in all the main subjects of the Final Examination is a must for Promotion.
Should a pupil pass in all the above mentioned main subjects but fails in any three of the remaining subjects is also liable to fail. The minimum marks required for passing in each subject and the aggregate shall be 33%.
